an introduction for deep hydrolyzed ginsenoside

Compared with other common ginseng extract supplier, we are quite unique because we mainly focus on ginseng extract with clear ginsenoside compostion and ginseng extract with deeply hydrolyzed ginsenosides.   Clear ginsenoside compostion bring clear bio-fuction,   deeply hydrolyzed ginsenosides can increase the absorption of ginseng extxract greatly.  I'd like to share some information about ginsenoside as below,

1.  In ginseng extract, the main active ingredients are ginsenosides.  There are more than 50 Kinds of ginsenosides in nature. Different ginsenosides have different bio-fuction.  Except a few ginsenosides (about 7-8 kinds of ginsenosides), the others are very rare (much less than 1%) in nature.

In current common ginseng extract, no matter it extracted from leaf, flower, fruit or root. the ginsenosides we can accumulate and separate is only primary ginsenoside, includes Rb1,  Rb2,  Rb3, Rc, Rd, Re, Rg1.  The only difference between these ginseng extract is the ratio of primary ginsenosides.

For example,  a charactic ratio assay of ginseng leaf extract as below,

Rb1,       1.5 %

Rb2        1.2%

Rb3        2%

Rd          9 %

Rc          5%

Rg1        6%

Re          15%

And the other herb parts extract are also composed by these primary ingredients but the ratio may be different. Such as, in Ginseng fruit extract, the assay of Re is high, and Rc is low ect.

2.  All the above high assay natural ginsenosides are called primary ginsenosides,  their strucuture is many glucose (different glucose number and different link position result in different primary ginsenosides)  link to a basic chemical skeleton.

The more glucose links, the more stable of ginsenosides in nature is.  So the high assay of natural goinsenosides are all primary ginsenosides.  But in human body, so many glucose links result in poor absorption, the glucose linked to  skeleton will be hydrolyzed and decreased glucoside by enzyme step by step, then primary ginsenoside turn into secondary ginsenoside.

There are two basic shkeleton in ginseng, PPD skeleton and PPT skeleton. Ginsenosides can also be mainly divided into the two groups, based on the chemical skeleton after removal all glucose.

One is PPD group.   including Rb1, Rb2, Rb3, Rc, Rd, Rf.     After hydrolysis, all PPD group Ginseoside will become PPD skeleton finally.

In human body, the metabolism of Rb1 (hydrolysis and removing glucoside by enzyme )  as below

Rb1----  Rd------Rg3 ------ Rh2--------F2 ------ Compound K ----PPD

Such as a long metabolism route make poor absorption of Rb1, the absorption of Rb1 (by oral) is only about 0.1 %.

The other group is PPT group, such as Re, Rg1, After hydrolysis, all PPR group Ginseoside will become PPT skeleton.

The Metabolism of Re in human body as below,

Re ----  Rg2---- Rh1-------F1---------PPT

3. In above two metabolism routes, the ginsenosides in red is the primary ginsenosides, and the green are the secondary ginsenoside.

During above Metabolism of Rb1,  from Rg3  to Compound K,  the natural assay of Rg3 in ginseng extract is only about 0.1% -0.5%.  And the Compound K in natural ginseng is only about  0.001%.  Research have proved Compound K is the exact one which is absorption by intestines directly.

Similar as PPT series ginsenosides.

4.  The ginseng extract we can supply, contains a lots of  secondary ginsenosides,  mainly composed by Rg2, Rg3, Rh1, Rh2, F1, F2, Compound K ect.   The total assay of secondary ginsenosides is about 20-40%.

With rich secondary ginsenosides and clear ginsenoside composition, our Ginseng extract have much better absorption and bio-fucntion, we also pay much attention on cost control to make our client release from the cost pressure.
